There are some things I thought when I read the Nikkei Information Strategy August 2011 I bought today.

There should be an experience where the shopper can experience only at your shop. Something that attracts a lot of customers and fans are celebrities’ autograph and such.

This brings in a lot of customers and fans that can interact at the shop. Something original should be good too, such as a very original way to layout merchandise, and a very talented staff is always good.

Making sure of online tracking and on site tracking is a very good strategy to get the knowledge of what a customer wants. You can miss a lot of customers by not analyzing trends and the needs.
